God, Our Deliverer

Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble;
He delivered them from their distress. Psalm 107:6
After the Israelites successfully crossed the Red Sea and God delivered them from the Egyptians, Moses and the Israelites sang a song of victory to the Lord. This is the first song recorded in the Bible, but it is not the last time it will be sung.
The book of Revelation was written by John who was given visions while exiled on the island of Patmos that he was told to write down. The visions take place in heaven. They are filled with imagery and stretch the imagination. The message is one of hope for those who suffer as we see Jesus show Himself as the Lion of the tribe of Judah. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and He will judge evil. This is reassuring.
Throughout this book, we often get a peak into the worship that goes on in heaven and how incredibly worthy Jesus is of our praise. When we say things like, "The war has already been won; the victory is ours," the scenes we see in this book assure us that this is true. Scripture tells us to fear the Lord, and in the book of Revelation, we can see why. Our God is Almighty and all-powerful. Evil doesn't stand a chance.
When Jesus defeated Satan at the cross, the war was won. Jesus overcame sin and death. He conquered the grave. Philippians 2 tells us that because Jesus became obedient to death, the Father exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names. That one day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. What a glorious sight that will be!
Another picture is of those who overcame the beast in the end times. It is the opening scene of what happens in heaven right before the last set of seven judgments begin. These saints sing two songs: The song of Moses (Ex. 15:1-18) and the song of the Lamb (Rev. 15:3-4). Both songs glorify God and speak of who He is.
The exodus of Israel from Egypt parallels Jesus' victory at the cross.
The Israelites were in bondage to Egypt; people are in bondage to sin
While living in slavery, the Israelites didn't know God as Deliverer; as sinners, people don't know God as Deliverer
The Israelites had no way of leaving Egypt on their own; people have no way of escaping the consequences of sin on their own
God rescued the Israelites from slavery in Egypt; God rescues people from slavery to sin
God's ultimate deliverance of Israel happened at the Red Sea; God's ultimate deliverance for sinners happened at the cross
God showed His love to Israel through the exodus; God shows His love to sinners through the cross
God loves you, and He proved it to you when He sent Jesus to die on the cross for your sins. As a believer, you now have access to His throne and Him anytime. He will always remind you of who you are in Christ. You are:
Alive in Christ (Eph. 2:5)
Free from the law of sin and death (Rom. 8:2)
Holy and blameless in His sight (Eph.1:4)
God's handiwork, created in Christ to do good works (Eph. 2:10)
A new creation (2 Cor. 5:17)
Joint heirs with Christ (Rom.8:17)
Righteous (2 Cor. 5:21)
Forgiven (Eph. 1:7)
Seated with Christ in the heavenly realms (Eph. 2:6)
Chosen and dearly loved (Col. 3:12)
Partakers of the divine nature (2 Pet. 1:4)
Free from condemnation (Rom. 8:1)
