Our Weapons
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.
2 Corinthians 10:4
We have already determined that we are in a war; that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers and powers of the dark world. I often wish that this verse came with a comprehensive list of what our weapons are so I could keep them before me. I want to do everything I can to fight well, and yet if I’m honest, I don’t use the weapons I know I have to their full potential.
I believe God revealed to me, maybe not so much a weapon, but a way He works that I hadn’t experienced. I have been planning to quit one of my jobs at the end of this school year. For at least a year, I believed it would be my school job. I had told the Lord I was open to whatever He wanted, and He wasn’t really saying anything about it at all so I kept thinking it would be my school job. About a week ago, I woke up and no longer wanted to work at Menards. It was so strange. I loved working there. I felt like God was telling me that He did it. He changed my heart. And just as He changed my heart about Menards, He changes hearts about all kinds of things so that He can accomplish His will. He changes the hearts of our children…who are really His. They are King’s kids. If He wills (this is just one of the myraid of ways he works), they too will wake up one morning and have a different perspective than the one they went to bed with the night before. He can use any circumstance to His glory. He can bring His word into their lives from anywhere. It is His word that burns like fire. It is His word that is like a hammer that smashes a rock to pieces. It can burn up and smash every lie they believe; every lie the enemy and the world tells them (Jeremiah 29:23). It is at His word that the enemy is defeated. It is His word that never returns void, but accomplishes what He desires and achieves the purpose for which He sends it (Isaiah 55:11). We must never forget, that He is the one with the power. And yet He has given us weapons to engage in the battle. We don’t just sit back and wait (unless those are His instructions). He wants us to fight in Jesus’ name with all the authority that has been given to us. So what are some of our weapons? This list is not in any way comprehensive and I would love to hear some of the weapons you have used to fight the enemy. Our group could benefit from hearing what weapons you have used in the battle.

Nothing in all God’s creation is hidden from His sight. There is nowhere to go where He can’t find you.
